Himanshu R Chhabra is a highly skilled software engineer with a specialisation in Android development. With over 6 years of experience, he has successfully shipped large-scale apps that are being used by millions of customers on a daily basis. Currently working at Google as a Software Engineer, he has previously worked with Microsoft in the capacity of a Software Engineer II and a Software Development Engineer. During his tenure at Microsoft, Himanshu worked on several projects, including Yammer on Android and Outlook on Android. He led the effort to build a rich text editor for posts on Yammer, enabling users to highlight information as required, and contributed to building a live-event experience. Additionally, he worked on content-moderation features such as restricted posts and closed conversations. He also mentored new hires and interns, helping them onboard to projects by actively reviewing their code and providing design suggestions. At Outlook on Android, Himanshu led the effort to enable favourites, allowing users to customise notifications and stay on top of content that's most important to them. He worked closely with server teams to optimise data sync and call volumes and added all of M365 Group related features into Outlook, such as Group calendars, files, membership, mails, tenant policies, CRUD, etc. Himanshu holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Manipal Institute of Technology.
